JDS - I Love You a Latte

Hello, everyone!

It has been a while since I posted here on my blog, and lots have changed since then!

I am pleased to finally be able to share the good news that I have been asked to participate as a Guest Designer for Jan’s Digi Stamps for the next few months in the hope to become a permanent member of this wonderful Design Team.

This being said, today’s card showcases a set from Jan’s Digi Stamps called EspressoYourself. This wonderful digital set comes with both b/w and pre-colored images along with several sentiments which I am sure you will adore.

I Love you a Latte

I decided to keep this card simple. For my background, I simply made a splash of color with some Distress Oxide Ink – Worn Lipstick. I then sized and printed the Latte image a few times, fussy cut it, stacked it about three times and then glued it on the card panel. The image was colored using Copics. For the Cup I used W3,W1,W0,W00 and for the Sleeve BG18,BG13,BG11. Since the image is pre-shaded, it is easy to color; no need to guess!

I like my card panels to pop so to achieve that I have a few tricks. First, I like to slightly ink all 4 corners with the dominant color featured on the card. In this case, it was Worn Lipstick. To make it pop even more, I also love to add dimensions behind my panel and to leave a black border. For this, I like to reuse scrap pieces that I already have cut slightly bigger than the actual card panel. I then take a sharpie or any kind of black marker and color all around the edges so that it looks like black cardstock. To achieve dimension, I usually stack about 3 of them (you can use fun foam or foam strips if you prefer). I then stack all of it on a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ top folding white cardbase.

For the sentiment, I printed “I Love you a LATTE” from the EspressoYourself set on white cardstock and matted it using a few layers of black cardstock (again, scraps, fun foam or foam tape can be used for this).

That completes the card. Fun, easy and quick!

Here’s another look

I would really love to see what creative things YOU have been up to! Which is why I invite you to join us at Jan’s Digi Stamps Challenge where its always Anything Goes. What I mean by that is that you can participate with absolutely anything…Cards, Scrapbooking, Papercrafting, Sewing, Jewelry, Sculpture, Baking, you name it! If you made it we want to see it!

Please submit a picture of your creation and see if you will be one of the lucky winners this month! We have two draws per month:

    1. Thank you Verna! I am not very good with digi yet, so hard to choose the size and all so I kind of ran out of time to make an elaborated card but I like how it turned out :)
